E.A Sports Active to Rival Wii Fit

Cannot Find A Wii Fit In Stock?

If you cannot find a Wii Fit in Stock this Christmas then E.A Sports may have the answer. They too want a piece of the fitness game pie and have announced their version of the Wii Fit in order to get gamers off of their behinds.

EA Sports Active will be aimed primarily to the female market, just like the Wii Fit, and will run on the Nintendo Wii Consoles, but there are some differences. Instead of a Wii Fit Balance Board, you will get a pair of leg straps that hold the Wii's nubchuk controller to track lower body movements. EA Sports Active will also have a resistance band to support a number of upper body strength traingine exercises.

EA says that the Sports Active has been endorsed by fitness experts, which includes Oprah's personal trainer; Bob Greene. Maybe not the best advert for the game, but then you am I to comment, and it looks like the EA Sports Active will be more challenging than Wii Fit and this is what they say:

...it features a "30 Day Challenge," a fitness road map for players to reach their fitness goals with the guidance of a virtual trainer. The Challenge provides a new, 20-minute workout every time a player exercises, including clear instruction, feedback on technique and positive encouragement throughout the workout. Each circuit will feel different and increase in intensity as fitness levels improve to help you work up a sweat and work toward your fitness goals."

The E.A Sports Active is due out next March and, although a lot of pundits think this is too late for the market, there aren't exactly too many Wii Fit type games out there, and there are not many Wii Fit in Stock this year, and there may not be many Wii Fit In Stock next year.

Although people looking for a Wii Fit In Stock this Christmas are not going to be too happy EA cannt help them out till next year.
